چکیده

A feeding trial was conducted to determine the effect of varying dietary levels protein on performance Japanese quail chicks. Six iso-caloric (2953-3078 kcal/kg, ME) diets were formulated contain crude (CP) at 18, 20, 22, 24, 26 and 28% levels, respectively. Each treatment replicated three times with sixty (60) chicks per replicate. total 1080 day-old unsexed used for study distributed using completely randomized design. The experiment lasted 42 days during which data collected. Feed water provided ad libitum throughout experimental period. intake, weight gain, feed conversion ratio intake differ significantly (P<0.05) due treatments. Final live cost gain not (P>0.05) different across Age first egg average eggs point lay differed haematological parameters (Total protein, haemoglobin, albumen red blood cell) affected by levels. Carcass weight, dressing percentage, prime cuts major organs expressed as percentage It concluded that required up 26% level optimum performance.

Egg Production Pattern Of Japanese Quail (Coturnix Coturnix Japonica) In Northern Guinea Savannah Zone Of Nigeria

The technology drive from egg production in relationship with genetic selection makes today’s egg production quails quite different from those of a decade ago. For instance age at 5 percent production is now earlier and total egg number has increased. The quail eggs are renowned for their high biological value (George, 2002). Although it was first considered mainly as a model animal for commerc...

Mate-choice copying in Japanese quail, Coturnix coturnix japonica

We performed four experiments to examine effects on the mate choices of female Japanese quail, Coturnix coturnix japonica, of observing a male mate with another female. Each experiment was conducted in three phases: (1) a pre-test during which subject females were allowed to choose between two males with which to affiliate; (2) an observation phase, in which subject females either watched or di...

Enzyme on Japanese Quail (Coturnix japonica) Performance

An experiment was conducted to study the eff ect of phytase enzyme (Natuphos 500) supplementation in Japanese quail (Coturnix japonica) (3 to 45 days of age) on body weight, carcass performance, percentage of tibia bone ash and tibia phosphorus. Data were analyzed as a completely randomized design arranged with fi ve levels (150, 300, 600, 1200 and 2400 FTU/Kg) of phytase enzyme as treatments 1...

Perceptual compensation for coarticulation by Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica).

When members of a series of synthesized stop consonants varying in third-formant (F3) characteristics and varying perceptually from /da/ to /ga/ are preceded by /al/, human listeners report hearing more /ga/ syllables than when the members of the series are preceded by /ar/. It has been suggested that this shift in identification is the result of specialized processes that compensate for acoust...

Feeding and Growth of Japanese Quail (coturnix C. Japonica) Chicks with Unpredictable Food

We investigated the effect of unpredictable feeding times on feeding activity and body mass gain in fast growing Japanese quail (Cotumix c. japonica) from 7 to 31 d of age. Quail chicks were subjected to a long day length (18L:6D) with ad libitum food during (1) 17.5 h of the light period, starting 0.5 h after lights-on (group A, n = 14), (2) 6 h of the light period, starting 0.5 h after lights...
